Deadline Approaches for Project Narragansett Program

Are you a middle- or high-school teacher looking for a way to connect your students with the wonders of Narragansett Bay? Project Narragansett is a FREE one-of-a-kind professional development program for middle- and high-school educators. Teachers participate in three workshops with Save The Bay staff and local marine scientists to expand their knowledge of marine science and the Narragansett Bay estuary and to promote environmental stewardship.

2012 workshops take place on January 23, March 26 and May 14. To download the application, click here. Applications are due January 6, 2012. Only fifteen spots are available, so get your application in soon!

Project Narragansett connects grade span expectations, NECAP science testing, and the Excellence in Environmental Education Guidelines for Learning (preK-12) with local science on Narragansett Bay. Participating teachers receive RIDE-approved credit hours and two fully funded schoolyear programs for their students (with partial bus funding).
